Dr. Shakov uses laser therapy for the following purposes:
Lasers can be used to treat acne. Dr. Shakov will be able to consult with you about your individual needs and what results you can expect. Laser treatment alone will rarely ablate acne, but most patients can expect to see a reduction in their acne using solely laser acne treatment. To get the best results, it is important to follow Dr. Shakov’s instructions for aftercare and follow-up treatment.
Treating abnormal pigmentation using the Cutera Xeo with Limelight or the Enlighten 3 is one of Dr. Shakov’s preferred methods. The limelight IPL can handle both light pigmentation differences as well as the darker high-contrast patches and has shown success in treatment of rosacea and vascular disorders.
Dr. Shakov uses the Cutera Laser Genesis to help revise the appearance of scars. The laser uses targeted and focused beams of light to treat the irregular areas of the skin and remove or revise the damaged skin. The laser works to increase the production of collagen fibers to encourage the new skin to grow smoother and firmer.
Enlarged blood vessels can be cosmetically distressing, especially if they occur on the face. Dr. Shakov uses the Cutera system of lasers to treat facial and leg telangiectasia (spider veins), larger reticular veins, cherry hemangioma, and venous lakes by focusing beams of light onto the areas to be treated. Multiple treatments may be needed based on Dr. Shakov’s assessment of your condition
The Cutera Xeo with ProWave combines unrivaled speed with optimal results and safety and the Cutera Xeo CoolGlide is the first laser cleared for permanent hair reduction in all skin types. Dr. Shakov has both at their disposal to ensure the best possible result for you. Laser hair removal is a process that requires repeated treatments over time to provide permanent results. The number of treatments needed may depend on the area to be treated and the density of the hair.
Dr. Shakov uses the Cutera Xeo with Laser Genesis or the Enlighten 3 with PICO Genesis to stimulate collagen production in order to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. These treatments are comfortable for wrinkle reduction and do not require much, if any, down time.
A new approach to treating benign pigmented lesions. By using IPL (intense pulsed light), Dr. Shakov can treat the face, neck, décolleté and hands of skin redness and brown spots to improve skin tone and surface imperfections.
These are raised and rough patches of skin. The Cutera Xeo can treat warts in any location of the body on any skin type.
The laser procedures are very safe.
Only Dr. Shakov will be able to estimate how many treatments would be needed in the selected area.
