HCG

HCG

hCG is the pregnancy hormone found in the human body. When used in combination with a reduced-calorie diet it has been shown to aid in the burning of fat, reduction of inches and a more sustainable weight loss than with the reduced diet alone.

How Is HCG Used?

hCG must be a self-administered daily injection. Dr. Shakov only prescribes the injection method, as we believe it is more effective for weight loss and has less risk of error. If you are nervous about the injection, we will guide you through a practice injection to make sure you can do it.

What Can I Expect During My Initial HCG Appointment?

Dr. Shakov will do a thorough medical examination to determine whether you are a good candidate for the hCG weight loss plan. After the exam and a consultation, Dr. Shakov will explain how The Youth Fountain hCG program works along with what IS and is NOT allowed during the diet. Measurements will be taken, a body composition analysis using the InBody body composition analyzer, and a “before” photo of you will be taken. Dr. Shakov will then schedule your visits, during which you will be given a weigh-in and an optional lipotrophic injection to help with energy levels and nutrient absorption.

The hCG plan can be administered for 28 days or longer if you have greater than 15 pounds to lose. Patients with a large amount of weight to lose may need to do more than one session of hCG.

Any man or woman who has at least 15 pounds to lose and is in good general health. You must be willing to adhere to a strict diet.

Although exercise is not required for the diet to work. it is important that you follow Dr. Shakov’s instructions and the hCG diet exactly as it is prescribed in order to avoid discomfort, hunger, and potential damage or injury to yourself. There is a slight risk of reaction at the injection site, possible allergic reaction or risk of blood clots. For women, it is advised to begin after your menstrual cycle ends but there is no harm with the injections if you are menstruating during the diet. Some other possible side effects are headache and swelling.
